Cooperation Strategies for Southern Europe
Over ten years of implementation of strict austerity programmes and policies on south European countries have decisively contributed to deepen the South-North European divide. In the European South radical left political forces, politicised social movements and combative trade unions remain relatively strong.
In the current political European landscape, the south of Europe can account for radical transformation of societies. We aim at bridging these plural left forces in a common strategy that provides a social, political, economic and cultural alternative for a democratic, progressive and solidary Europe.
We analyse and study the substantial social and electoral support that the radical left holds in the vast majority of European Southern countries. We foster the debate amongst scholars, intellectuals, social movements, trade unions and political parties around relevant social and political issues and that encompass a broader political strategy able to counteract the current European integration process.
