Radical, Far and Populist Right
Social inequalities and the devaluation of work have led the European population to become increasingly radicalised, finding a representative model in the extreme and populist right. This phenomenon, which was initially relative to a few countries (the Visegrád group), has now become present in all European countries without exception.
We believe that the radical left is the only real opposition to the advance of the right in Europe. However, this is only possible through theoretical reflection and empirical analysis of class dynamics and social movements in Europe. This is why transform! europe is strongly committed to research on extreme right-wing political polarisation.
The activities of the Working Group on strategies against the populist and extreme right consist of: organising and hosting of seminars, conferences and research aimed at the theoretical study of the extreme right at the level of the Member States and at the European level; fostering research and empirical studies on the relationship between the electoral polarisation of the far right and the socio-economic structure; promoting educational and divulgatory projects against the attempts of historical revisionism and for the promotion of the values of anti-fascism.
