The Foundation for Marxist Studies(FIM) was founded in December 1978 as the cultural foundation of the Communist Party of Spain. It promotes studies, seminars, debates, the founding of libraries and documentation centres and supports publications, which promote development aid. It supports a variety of activities and initiatives in the fields of culture, science and international cooperation, which are informed or inspired by Marxism as a theoretical and political movement for the emancipation of men and women, international solidarity and social transformation.
