Saturday’s Programme on Zoom (English)

Myyräncolo’s Skenesali’s Saturday’s programme will be streamed on Zoom and interpreted in English.

12:00 Opening of the festival

Editor-in-chief of Tiedonantaja Petra Packalén. A greeting from CPF’s Uusimaa district organisation, Heikki Ekman.

12:30 Debate: The world’s, Europe’s and Finland’s security policy — Which alternatives?

Attila Vajnai, member of the Political Secretariat of the European Left, Liisa Taskinen, Chairperson of the Communist Party of Finland and Beatriz Parra González, Ambassador of Cuba in Finland, will discuss the security policy of the world, Europe and Finland and its alternatives.

16:00-17.30 Trade Unionist activity time

The tasks and and the issues of the struggles of the Trade Union movement call for more active cooperation. Mass force and union measures are needed to counter efforts aiming to weaken the labour movement and to bring out alternatives to austerity policies.

The themes of the panel discussion are: workers in the wage pit, their legitimate demands for improving working conditions, the cost of living’s level, and cooperation between trade unions and unemployment funds.

In addition to public speeches, the discussion includes a different kind of interactivity, as a statement is prepared for the discussion about the topics to be discussed, which is shown to everyone at the end of the discussion and is discussed collectively on spot before publication.

Among the speakers: Eliisa Juntunen, Vice Chairperson of SAKKI ry, and Otto Rask, an active member of CPF’s Trade Unionist working group. The panel will be chaired by Jiri Mäntysalo, deputy member of Trade Union Pro’s representative board.
